Week #4 Starts: Sept 13th No Sparring (Testing Week) Wk#4 "Kata clinic" is a sparring clinic.
Week #1 Starts: Sept 20th Wednesday and Thursday

Week #2 Starts: Sept 27th Monday, Tuesday and Saturday

Notes from Senseis Barb & Ron Keiser:
From time to time we are asked questions, the answers to which students in general might be interested in. Following are 2 questions to start with and we will address other topics in future newsletters. If you have a question for this "column" please leave it with us or in the gray box on the reception desk. Thank you!

(1) How long are you going to be in this location? We are happy to say that we are very close to renewing our lease for another 5 years. Since we won't qualify for our red belts for another 35 years or so, we anticipate that this will be just the first renewal of many!

(2) Who tests you(Senseis Keiser)? There is a board of Senior Isshin Ryu Black Belts in the Rochester area that determines the requirements for our promotions. When we qualify with enough time in grade, assessments are made by this board. When they determine that we have met and exceeded the requirements, we would then participate in a testing session to determine our promotion to the next Dan level.

Black Belt Club
The BBC provides an opportunity for students of all ages to enhance their training and to show their dedication to "Black Belt Excellence". If you have any questions about the BBC material you received in your mail folder, please see Senseis Barb or Ron Keiser.

Black Belt Club Members your next seminar will be on Monday, September 20th from 5:15- 6:00. Our Topic will be: Kali Stick Workout. Please mark your calendars

Merchandise Sales
All Uniforms will be on sale for a 15% reduction from the current price. (Student uniforms are Reg.$30 Now $25.50)

All Jackets will be on sale for a 15% reduction from the current price. (Embroidered jackets are Reg. $79 Now $67.15 and Screened design are Reg. $49 Now $41.65)

Library
We are establishing a small lending library of martial arts books and other books that have positive themes. If you have any titles to suggest, please see Senseis Keiser. Books can be borrowed for 1 week, lending cards can be left in the gray box on the reception desk.

Carpet Cleaning -over the Labor Day Weekend
The carpets will be cleaned and the bathroom floors will be cleaned and sealed by "Executive Carpet Cleaners".

Full Uniforms/ Marking Shoes and Jackets
We are back to full uniforms. All students should wear their full uniforms to class. As the cooler weather arrives please make sure all children have their names in all their jackets, shoes and sparring Gear. This will help cut down on lost gear, shoes taken in error and clothes left in the "Lost and Found" until we must donate them to charity.

FREE Women's Self Defense Classes
Our next session of Free Women's Self -Defense Classes will held on 9/28, 10/5 and 10/12, from 7:30-8:30PM.
